The Anglers Rest in Bamford is a brilliant community pub near Ladybower. Locally owned and staffed, this is one well worth supporting. Not only is it a pub but also a post office, cafe, and shop. It’s a real hub for the community. Food is simple but delicious and well sized. You’ll find burgers, sandwiches and jacket potatoes on the menu.

Old Hall Hotel

This traditional 16th century coaching Inn located in the charming village of Hope is a must visit near the Ladybower reservoir. The Old Hall Hotel is a popular place to eat, drink and stay in the Hope Valley and they regularly hold beer festivals and live music shows which draw large crowds. Food is traditional pub grub with a modern twist and the regularly changing cask ales are hugely popular. As is the huge range of spirits available!

Ye Old Bowling Green

If you’re attempting to walk up Win Hill from Ladybower, Ye Old Bowling Green pub is a good one on the other side. Located in Bradwell this is a very simple village pub. It’s super friendly with a fab enclosed beer garden, fire pits and a lovely kids play area. It has an absolutely stunning view of the surrounding peaks. Well used by locals the menu is typical pub grub and we found the portions absolutely huge.

Rutland Arms Hotel

This 19th century coaching inn is located in the heart of Bakewell to the South of the Peak District. The interiors are opulent and glamorous making this Inn a real treat to visit after a walk in the Peak District. Food is extremely good quality and seasonal with local treats such as spiced Derbyshire lamb and healthy options such as a buddha bowl.

You’ll find plenty of pay and display car parks in town. This one is a bit further away from Ladybower, it will take you half an hour to drive to Bakewell from Ladybower and I wouldn’t recommend walking! But it’s a good choice to stop off at if you’re heading home South of the Peak district.

Another fabulous coaching inn, this one located in delightful Baslow is the Wheatsheaf pub. This is one of our favourite pubs in the Peak District for Sunday Lunch. They are perfectly cooked and absolutely huge! They also have a brilliant main menu offering pies, salads and kebabs. Inside feels very cosy and welcoming with plush sofas and warming fires.
